Find Your Ring Size
The most common worry in a surprise proposal is the one that matters least: ring size is adjustable. Still, arriving close makes the moment perfect. Four reliable ways to find her size — ranked by accuracy.
Method 1 — Borrow a ring she already wears (best)
Take a ring she wears on her ring finger (left hand if that’s where it will live), and either bring it to us, or measure its inner diameter in millimetres with a ruler across the widest point. That single number is all we need — find it in the table below.
Method 2 — The string method
- Wrap a thin strip of paper or string snugly around the base of her finger.
- Mark where it overlaps, then measure the length in millimetres — that’s the circumference.
- Match it in the table below. Measure in the evening (fingers swell slightly) and avoid measuring when cold.
Method 3 — Ask us for a free ring sizer

Method 4 — Recruit an accomplice
Her sister, her mother, her best friend. They usually know — and they keep secrets better than you’d think. They can also borrow the right ring for Method 1.

Between two sizes? Choose the larger — sizing down is easier than sizing up.
If you’re still unsure
Buy at our best estimate and propose. Resizing takes a few days at the atelier — the proposal never has to wait for a half-size. For rings with pavé or eternity bands, ask us first: some designs size differently, and we’ll advise before you commit.
