Privacy Notice
diamonds.com.lb is an online diamond house in Beirut. This notice explains, in plain terms, what information we collect when you use this website, send us an enquiry or message us on WhatsApp, what we use it for and who else handles it. It describes how the site works today; if that changes, we will update this page and its date.
Effective date: 12 October 2026
When you browse the site
We use two outside services to understand how the site is used: Google Analytics and Inspectlet.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a measurement service run by Google. It records the pages you open and how you arrived at the site, together with general technical details such as your device, browser and approximate location, and it uses cookies to recognise a returning browser.
The site also sends Google Analytics a short note when you take certain actions, such as tapping a WhatsApp or phone button, sending the enquiry form, saving a diamond to your shortlist, opening a certificate, using the diamond filters, choosing a ring metal or moving on to the ring builder. Each note records the action, the type of page and the name of the diamond or ring shown on it. It does not include your name, email address, phone number or the text of a message.
Inspectlet session recording
Inspectlet is a session-recording service. Once you start scrolling, tapping or moving the mouse on a page, or after a few seconds, it records how you move through the site: scrolling, clicks, taps and mouse movement. We replay these recordings to see where the site is confusing or hard to use. Inspectlet also notes general technical details such as your browser, device and approximate location, uses cookies to link the pages of one session, and marks the actions listed above on the recording.
Cookies
Apart from the cookies used by Google Analytics and Inspectlet, the site’s own code sets no cookies.
Crawler log
Our server keeps a simple log of requests from search engines and other automated crawlers, recognised by the name they announce. Each entry holds only the time, the crawler’s name and the page requested. We use it to see how search engines read the site.
When you send an enquiry
The enquiry form on our contact page asks for your name, an email address or a phone number (at least one of the two) and, if you wish, a message. Along with what you type, the site records:
- the address of the page you sent it from;
- the diamond reference, if you arrived from a link about a specific stone;
- the language of the page;
- the date and time;
- the IP address of your connection, which we use to block more than five enquiries an hour from one address, a simple guard against spam.
Your enquiry is saved in the site’s database on our server, and a copy of your details and message is emailed to info@diamonds.com.lb, with your email address set as the reply address so we can answer you directly.
When you message us on WhatsApp
The WhatsApp buttons on the site are wa.me links. They open WhatsApp with a message already written for you, usually naming the diamond or ring and the address of its page. Nothing reaches us until you choose to send it, and you can change the text first.
When you write to us, we receive what any WhatsApp contact receives: your number, your profile name and the messages, photos or files you send. WhatsApp is a separate service, and its own terms and privacy policy apply to everything sent through it.
A tap on a WhatsApp button is one of the actions noted in Google Analytics and Inspectlet, as described above. The content of your WhatsApp conversation is not.
What stays in your browser
Some features save information in your own browser’s storage, on your device:
- Shortlist. Diamonds you save with the heart are kept in your browser (title, reference, price, link and image) so you can compare them on the shortlist page. The site does not send your shortlist to our server; you can send it to us yourself on WhatsApp, in one message, from that page.
- Recently viewed. The last diamonds you opened, up to twelve, are kept so that diamond pages can show them again.
- Diamond search. Your filters and scroll position in the diamond search are kept for the current tab, so the Back button returns you to the same place. Your browser clears this when you close the tab.
How we use this information
- To answer your enquiries and messages, and to arrange what you ask us for, such as a reservation, a collection appointment or a delivery.
- To understand which pages help and which confuse, and to improve the site.
- To keep the enquiry form free of spam.
- To see how search engines read the site.
Who we share it with
Information about you passes only to the services named in this notice:
- Google, which runs Google Analytics;
- Inspectlet, which runs the session recording;
- WhatsApp, when you choose to message us there;
- our web hosting provider, whose servers run the site, hold its database and handle its email.
Enquiries sent through the form go only to the site’s database and our own mailbox. The site does not pass them to any other service.
Your choices
- See or delete an enquiry. Email info@diamonds.com.lb, or message us on WhatsApp, and we will tell you what we hold from your enquiry, or delete it.
- Clear what is stored in your browser. You can remove a diamond from your shortlist at any time. Clearing this site’s data in your browser settings removes your shortlist, your recently viewed diamonds and the cookies described above.
- Limit analytics and recording. Your browser’s privacy settings or a content blocker can stop Google Analytics and Inspectlet from loading. The site works without them.
- Choose how you contact us. You can call us or send an email instead of using WhatsApp or the form.
