- The setting. It depends on the metal, the weight of the mount and any small diamonds it carries. Platinum costs more than 18K gold, and a plain solitaire costs less than a pavé or halo design.
Once you have chosen both, we quote the finished ring the same day on WhatsApp: the diamond at its listed price plus the setting in your metal. When you compare quotes elsewhere, check whether “1 carat” means the centre diamond or the total weight of every diamond in the ring: a ring sold as one carat total weight can carry a centre stone well under a carat.
How a 1 carat diamond looks on the hand
A well-cut round 1 carat diamond measures about 6.4 to 6.5 millimetres across the top, a confident centre stone that does not look heavy. An oval or pear of the same weight spreads across a longer outline and looks larger, while a stone cut too deep hides weight underneath and looks smaller. 0.90 or 1.00 carat?
Prices step up at the 1 carat line, but visible size does not. A well-cut 0.90 carat round measures about 6.2 mm, a difference nobody notices on the hand. Because it sits below the threshold, it costs less per carat, which is why the grid above starts at 0.90.
